Family-Friendly Restaurants in Sharm El Sheikh
Ten halal-friendly restaurants in Sharm that welcome kids, from beachfront buffets to local Egyptian fare.
All restaurants in Sharm serve halal food by default — that's not unusual for Egypt. What varies is atmosphere, price, and whether the place is family-set-up. Here are ten we send guests to.
1. Andrea's, Naama Bay — beachfront, excellent grilled fish and meze, play area for kids.
2. Fares Seafood, Old Market — the classic Sharm seafood experience. Choose your fish from the ice display.
3. Abou Ali, Naama Bay — Egyptian street food done properly. Ful, ta'ameya, kofta. Very kid-approved.
4. Il Pomodoro, Hadaba — proper Italian. The pizza is better than you'd expect. Good high chairs.
5. The Tent, SOHO Square — Bedouin-style dining tent. Grilled meats, live music in evenings.
6. Reef Grill, Soho — family-sized portions, seafood platters that feed 4.
7. Studio Masr, Naama — authentic Egyptian, reasonable prices, welcomes kids in evenings.
8. Hard Rock Cafe, Naama — not our usual recommendation, but if the kids are begging for burgers and the familiar, it does the job.
9. La Veranda, Nabq Bay — hotel restaurant open to non-guests. Massive buffets, perfect for picky-eater children.
10. El Masrien, Old Market — best ful medames in Sharm for breakfast. Small, local, always busy.
Tips for families.
- Tap water is not safe — stick to bottled.
- Many restaurants have kids' menus but don't advertise them; ask.
- Tipping: 10% is standard, up to 15% for excellent service.
- Fridays (prayer day) some local places close 12:00–14:00.
No alcohol is served at any of these venues — they're family-friendly by default. If you're looking for formal dining experiences, we can recommend and book.
